The Search tab looks across everything YouTube Music indexes — not just songs.
Filters
Results open on All. Tap a filter to narrow them to one kind of result:

Switching filter re-runs the same query against that category, so you don't have to retype it.
Suggestions
As you type, SimpMusic offers completions. Tapping one searches for it immediately — and it respects the filter you already have selected, rather than resetting you to All.
Search history
Past searches are kept and shown when the query box is empty, so a repeat search is one tap. Use Clear search history to wipe the list.
History is stored locally on your device. It is separate from your YouTube account's search history, and clearing it here doesn't touch anything on Google's side.
When nothing comes back
An empty result set shows a "no results" message rather than a blank screen. If the search itself failed — no connection, or YouTube returned an error — you get a Retry button instead, since that case is usually temporary.
